Secret behind Why Kattappa killed Baahubali poster revealed

Fans will have to wait for the sequel to know Why Kattappa killed Baahubali? but concept artist Viswanath Sundaram has spilled the beans about how he created the now-famous image in magnum opus Baahubali.
Sundaram, who has designed more than 1,000 concept art pieces for Baahubali said that working on the project was equivalent to doing ten movies thanks to its epic nature.
During his interview, Viswanath said, “”First, I developed a frame but the director felt it was too low an angle to shoot on the screen. The next one too did not convince him since the slayer’s face was obscure. Later, I composed a silhouette with fire and grey backdrop, and my art was ultimately replicated on the screen without any change.”
Kattappa scene may be the signature image from the movie but Sundaram considers the statue-lifting scene of Bhallala Deva (played by Rana Daggubati) in the first installment as the most challenging shot he envisioned as a concept artist.

Sundaram believes film industry has gradually opened doors to concept art and graphic design aritsts for projects made on a broad canvas. Baahubali: The Conclusion starring PrabhasRana DaggubatiAnushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia, is scheduled to release on April 28.
